A year has passed since I launched CAWCE.com. Moreover, it has been 5 months since I moved from Indianapolis to Philadelphia. I just want to say thank you to all my family, friends, customers, and freelancers who helped and supported me all this time. It would have been impossible without you guys. To everyone, wishing you all a happy new year!
I must admit, running an online business was much harder than I expected. I thought I was mentally and physically prepared for it. I was wrong.
There were obstacles and challenges that I never experienced before. I lost myself in the process that I forgot what’s important for me and for CAWCE. I was too aggressive. My vision blurred. But despite it all, I was able to pull CAWCE and myself back on the right track after taking a short break at the end of 2016.
Here are some things I learned for the past year which I like to share to you all:
- Don’t wait. Just do it.
You can never be ready or will ever be. Sometimes, when you fail to act at a certain moment, you’ll forever lose the chance to do so. Or, when you do get the chance to redo something, it will demand more time than what you originally planned for.
- Never assume, ask.
Communication is the key to any team’s success. When in doubt, always ask and never assume that you are right.
- Constructive criticism is always welcome.
Never take criticisms personally, rather take it as grounds for improvement. Make the change if you think it helps, otherwise, ignore it.
- Always be you.
Don’t pretend that you’re someone else. There’s no one else like you in this world. We are unique in every way. So, stop spending time focusing on other people’s lives, and ideas. Rather, spend time to perfect yourself because you are your own masterpiece.
- Always keep a positive attitude.
No matter what happens, face it. The sun will still come up the next day.
Thanks for spending time reading this blog post. I sure will take one step at a time to fulfill my goals this 2017. And I hope you will too!
